"The Moving Toyshop" by Edmund Crispin probably didn't make a whole lot of sense. The perpetrator of the murder I've already forgotten. It doesn't really matter that the plot is weirdly convoluted. What makes "The Moving Toyshop" a good read is that it has an intriguing story. Toy shops that disappear and then reappear. A body appearing and then disappearing. A murder perpetrated right in front of the sleuth. Characters that seem to be on the sidelines but aren't. A fun mystery.

Delightful British detective story - without cellphones, DNA, and other modern coinveniences.... originally published in 1946.
